A shooting Monday night marks Hamilton's second homicide in 2012, both of which have happened right in our backyard.
The first incident happened on Good Friday, April 8th just south Barton Street. The 36 year old victim was gunned down in the playground next to Cathy Wever Elementary School on Wentworth St N.
The latest on Monday evening happened on Milton St just a few doors down from the Barton Public Library. Two people were shot in the incident and taken to Hamilton General Hospital. According to news reports from several local news organizations one of the victims later died in hospital.
The news overshadows some of the good happening in the community. There are great things going on and wonderful people living and working around Barton St. If you have something good and positive to share about the neighbourhood let us know. There is a lot of good down here.
